The Geospatial Profile is the result of a year-long effort by government, industry, and academia to identify geospatial capabilities and characteristics that should be recognized by agency business and IT planners in their Enterprise Architecture designs. The application of a more systematic approach to addressing geospatial capabilities is intended to facilitate geospatial data and services sharing among collaborating governmental entities. Although writen with specific reference to the reference models of the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), the approach taken is consistent with generic Enterprise Architecture conventions and is intended to be interpreted by all levels of government and the private sector.
The FEA Geospatial Profile Version 1.1 is available for download from the CIO.gov website.
