The Pacific Risk Management Ohana (PRiMO) is a consortium of governmental organizations and institutions in the Pacific dedicated to supporting regional disaster management activities. Of particular interest is PRiMO’s Observations and Data Management Hui (working group), which is tasked to “enhance the collection and sharing of framework, assets, and hazards data including improved coastal, ocean, and atmospheric observing capabilities” throughout the Pacific region. To support the achievement of the Hui’s “Next Steps,” will working on two activities.
Task 1 - Increase participation in the continued development of hazard and risk data frameworks within the user community through a regional Hazard and Risk Managers User Community Workshop.
Task 2 - Establish user community familiarity with hazard and risk
data sharing and access applications and tools by establishing a
partnership with the Asia Pacific Natural Hazards Information
Network.
