Summary of 2016 Activities
The FGDC participated in international efforts to advance the development of spatial data infrastructures through national and international organizations working to build an interoperable global spatial data infrastructure. The FGDC participated with the Intergovernmental Group on Earth Observations (GEO), Global Spatial Data Infrastructure (GSDI) Association, the United Nation Committee on Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN–GGIM) and national SDI development efforts in Poland, Peru, and Kazakhstan.
These efforts help advance the 2014-2016 NSDI Strategic Plan | Objective 3.1 and Objective 3.2 efforts to develop, coordinate, and promote international standards, the NSDI vision, and to raise awareness of the benefits of spatial data infrastructures.
