Join us Thursday (8/23) for two special Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) and URISA sponsored workshops.
Making the Transition to International Metadata
Thursday, August 23, 8:30 a.m. - noon
A follow-up to Wednesday’s (10:30 a.m.-noon) manager-oriented Metadata Best Practices Session, the workshop provides an opportunity for participants to ‘go deeper’ in preparing for the adoption and implementation of the North American Profile of the International (ISO) metadata standard. The workshop will introduce the Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata to ISO 19115 metadata translation software developed by BSpatial and /Intergraph Corporation and sponsored by the FGDC Metadata Program.

Introduction to Framework Data, Concepts, Standards and Applications
Thursday, August 23, 1:30 -4:00 p.m.
The Framework Data Standard was developed to facilitate the exchange of orthoimagery, cadastral, geodetic control, elevation, hydrography, transportation (roads) and governmental unit geospatial data. The workshop focuses on implementation of the Framework Data Standard and introduces training materials developed by the University of Wyoming as part of the NSDI Training Program.

Note: Right-click on “Framework Data Workbook.ppt”, and select ‘Save Target As”. If prompted for a login, select theLogin Anonymously
option and leave the Password field blank. Once downloaded,select ‘Notes Page’ format when printing to get the entire workbook.
No fees or registration are required for either workshop. To ensure that sufficient training materials are available, participants are encouraged to:
- Download and print their own workshop materials, as indicated above
- Bring their own laptop (if possible).
