The Standards Guide from ISO Technical Committee 211, Geographic information/Geomatics, is compiled from text and diagrams from published standards from the ISO 19100 series of geographic information standards. It provides general overviews and Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams that depict relationships of the internal components of a standard and the relationships of that standard with other standards in the ISO 19100 series of geographic information standards.
The Standards Guide groups published standards from the ISO 19100 series of geographic information standards into the following categories:
- Infrastructure for geospatial standardization
- Data models for geographic information
- geographic information management
- geographic information services
- encoding of geographic information
- specific themes (imagery)
The Standards Guide was developed by the The ISO/TC 211 Advisory Group on Outreach, which seeks to "promote the awareness, adoption, and advocacy of ISO/TC 211 standards."
